Experience
For years I tutored kids who were on the road and away from school for horseback riding competitions. Following college I taught a class to local women in Costa Rica, 'De Basura A Tesoro,' focusing on environmental mindfulness and making marketable goods from recycled materials. Since then I have mentored girls on a professional and personal level, every year. I have taught various high impact sports to children and adults over the last 15 years and feel that I have really found my teaching voice. I love to tutor to encourage kids to push through the difficult parts of school, to understand the importance of what they're working on and to hopefully begin pinpointing their passions. I have lived in different parts of Latin America for several years, and speak intermediate Spanish fluently. I've been a writer all my life, ultimately influencing me to major in multimedia journalism during college. My communication skills are excellent and I'm professionally motivated by interpersonal connections. Recently I started a company, Chicks Rip Adventures, with the goal of evoking women's and girls' empowerment through exploring outside. Hobbies
I love languages! I wish I could teach more than two, but for now English and Spanish will have to do. I have an international mind, and I've always got a trip in the works. The older I get, the more hands-on experience I want with children and adolescents. Positive role models are absolutely necessary; I truly believe it takes a village to raise a child! I am super into women's rights, although I love working with boys too. Teaching surfing, mountain biking, horseback riding, yoga... huge passion! I'd love to help bring that enthusiasm into your child's academics.
