I attended Carleton College, Bachelor of Arts degree, 3.4 GPA. My major was Environmental & Technological Studies, with major coursework in Sociology/Anthropology. I am a current Masters in Education graduate student at NYU. I also have worked as a cultural and natural history educator for about 10 years, and I have learned much through that and worked with youth of all age groups!
Experience
I know that the most important attributes for a tutor are patience, understanding, and an upbeat, can-do attitude! I have tutored about 10 students, mostly 6th-12th grades, in several subjects, especially math and writing! I got high scores on my SATs and AP's, though I don't remember exactly what they were. I scored a 5 on the exams for Biology, Literature, Composition, World History, U.S. History, Psychology, and Statistics. I worked as an educator for the National Park Service and other conservation education organizations for around 10 years, and have taught many diverse topics relating to our natural and cultural history. I love working with kids, and am currently studying to become a middle school science teacher through NYU.
